Unit Description:
The Medical Surgical unit is a 39-bed unit that cares for multisystem disease processes.
We specialize in general surgeries ranging from appendectomies, cholecystectomy, urology, podiatry, colon rectal, and womenâ™s surgeries.
It is a fast-paced unit that takes pride in excellent and compassionate leadership with extensive surgery knowledge and a drive to grow staff and provide world-class care and experiences.
The Medical Telemetry Unit is a 46-bed unit that cares for a variety of disease processes.
We have a diverse, collaborative and teamwork centered team. We currently are at 5:1 nurse/patient ratio and have support staff of PCT & Nurse Techs. We have a unit educator who ensures our staff maintains unit required CEUs and is also a great resource to our staff and management. We have daily âœEnergizersâ as a quick method of communication to staff of important system and campus specific news/updates.
This is a great time to join our MedSurg and MedTele teams as we just transitioned to EPIC - our charting system & have the rover technology for communication and documentation on the go! Our professional practice program is a great way for our staff to become preceptors and relief charges. We welcome and support continued education with education reimbursement which encourages and provides opportunity for professional growth. We encourage our staff to join our Professional Excellence Program (Clinical Ladder) and as a unit we have staff recognition, open door policy and Teamwork! The role youâ™ll contribute:
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups. Utilizes the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Terms: 24 month Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation
Sign-on Eligibility:
Applicable experience required.
Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible.
Relocation Eligibility:
Must live 50 miles outside of campus address.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences youâ™ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Graduate of a school of nursing
Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Life Support Certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements
EKG
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelorâ™s degree in Nursing
Professional Certification
